Engagement – Sam and Mark – Santa Cruz Engagement Photographer

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

I saw the Giant Dipper sign and had to suggest it.

We met at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk just as it opened on a Monday morning.

Sam and Mark brought props! They decided to go with a colorful candy theme for the boardwalk shots. We had more candy than we knew what to do with!

This has to be the cutest themed engagement shoot ever.

The staff were incredibly accommodating. The carousel ride manager let us in to take a few photos.

Sam and Mark are having a Halloween wedding in Santa Cruz this year. Sam’s an actress, and Mark’s a graphic designer – he’s going to do some of his own editing to my photos, and I’m excited to see what he comes up with. I hear good things about Halloween in Santa Cruz – this should be a fun one.

Engagement – Susana & Anoop – San Francisco Engagement Photographer

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Susana and Anoop found me on Facebook, of all places, and I am very glad that they did.

We met at San Francisco's Ferry Building to do an engagement shoot a few weeks in advance of their wedding.

There were so many opportunities for photos around the building, which is located where Market meets Embarcadero in San Francisco.

Susana and Anoop humored me for a reflection shot, and I love how it turned out.

We took a couple of quick photos in front of the building, then decided to head up to try to get a photo near the Golden Gate Bridge.

I’m excited to shoot the October wedding of Susana and Anoop. It’s going to be a Portuguese-Indian wedding, complete with both ceremonies. I love the colors and flavors and new sights of multicultural weddings. I’ll miss India and the wedding that I shot there a few years ago – hopefully I’ll get the chance to post some of those old photos sometime in the offseason.

Engagement – Kris & David – Jack London State Historic Park Engagement Photographer

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

En route to Jack London State Historic Park, after a quick stop at the Eric Ross tasting room in Glen Ellen.

I wanted to take a completely different approach for this engagement shoot. I decided to use natural light for most of it.

I love the combination of this shot and the next one.

And I wish my blog could display a horizontal diptych well.

The park was gorgeous, and the light was perfect - we got there at just the right time.

I’m shooting Kris and David’s wedding in a few weeks. I was ecstatic when Kris said that she wanted to have her engagement shoot in Jack London State Historic Park – I love shooting in the Sonoma Valley, and suggested that we round out the shoot with some photos from Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, just up the road.
