Andi and Aaron are friends of some old friends of mine. I’m so happy I was recommended to photograph their beautiful Rohnert Park Foxtail wedding – referrals from friends have formed the heart of this wedding season! Anyhow, you may remember their Petaluma Adobe engagement photos from here. They were married at the golf course in the heart of Rohnert Park, just a few blocks from my elementary school, Marguerite Hahn. Foxtail is a well-known venue and had just about everything you could ask for. I arrived early in the morning after photographing the rehearsal barbecue dinner in Petaluma the night before, and got to shoot the bride’s preparations – usually my favourite part of the wedding day. The ceremony was outside on a gorgeous summer day, behind a well manicured putting green, and included a cool mid-bridal-procession dance down the aisle. The reception was held at the golf course venue, and included a delicious work of art by Carolyn, of Your Sweet Expectations. Thanks for looking!

Wedding – Andi and Aaron – Foxtail Wedding Photographer
Sunday, June 26th, 2011Wedding – Robyn and Ed – Arizona State University Danforth Chapel Wedding Photographer
Monday, June 13th, 2011Robyn and Ed were married at Arizona State University’s Danforth Chapel, on the Tempe campus; the reception was held at Rula Bula restaurant on Mill Avenue. This wedding featured a couple of good friends of mine from my Sun Devil days, a bicycle rickshaw ride (I rode on the back of a tandem to take the photos) across campus and through the streets of Tempe, and a delicious Irish dinner. Hugh Hallman, the Mayor of Tempe, was the officiant – it was great to see him since I photographed his portrait for the Phoenix New Times several years prior.
Engagement – Megan and Alex – Yosemite Engagement Session
Friday, June 10th, 2011I was flattered when Megan and Alex e-mailed me after seeing Andy & Erin’s wedding photos and asked if we could do an engagement session in Yosemite. They’re getting married in the same place, the Evergreen Lodge near Hetch Hetchy, and it was an honor to be asked to return and take some more photos of another adorable couple. I met with Megan and Alex at the lodge for a drink the night before our session, we discussed what they like in wedding photos and went over my portfolio, and I camped in the National Forest and woke up super-early to take advantage of the morning light. Oh, and yes, that’s a real rainbow behind them in the photos on the Hetch Hetchy reservoir dam. Thanks for looking!
Engagement – Lisa-Mei and Nick, Part 2 – Golden Gate Park Engagement Photos
Friday, June 10th, 2011Lisa-Mei and Nick wanted to do some photos without the dogs – to complement the photos we took at Schoolhouse Beach. We decided to meet at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park one afternoon. We ended up wandering around Stow Lake, through the rose garden, and by the trees at the Holocaust Memorial. It was a beautiful time to take photos. Please let me know what you think.
Engagement – Marlo and Scott – Stanford Engagement Photos
Thursday, April 28th, 2011Marlo and Scott are getting married this summer at a private home on the peninsula. They asked me to come take some engagement photos at a few places that are important to them – a picnic clearing, the Stanford University machine shop, and their neighborhood. I think some of these are pretty unique and fun, and they showcase their personalities well – I’d love to hear how you feel about these Stanford University engagement photos. I never thought I’d do a machine shop engagement session, it was kind of amazing to see it.
Engagement – Lisa-Mei and Nick – Schoolhouse Beach Engagement Session
Sunday, April 17th, 2011Lisa-Mei and Nick found me on Photoshelter and asked if I’d shoot their Sonoma County beach wedding this September. We decided to take some engagement photos along the same lovely coastline, at Schoolhouse Beach and then in the town of Bodega. They brought their well-behaved dogs and we had a wonderful time – I love engagement sessions that are real and down to earth and tell the story of something that the couple might normally be doing. The west side of Sonoma County is such an idyllic wedding setting – there are all sorts of beautiful nooks and crannies – like Barley and Hops, in Occidental, for example. Thanks for looking, and keep an eye out for another post from this lovely couple – we’re planning another session in the city, without the dogs.
Engagement – Katie and Jamie – Santa Cruz Engagement Photos
Friday, March 11th, 2011Jamie and Katie saw Sam and Mark’s Santa Cruz engagement photos and asked me to come down and shoot at West Cliff, on the west end of town. They were lovely to work with, and were even willing to drive up to Swanton Berry Farm, near Davenport, around 10 miles north of Santa Cruz, to take some more engagement photos.
