Engagement – Sam and Mark – Santa Cruz Engagement Photographer

Written by Morgan Bellinger on September 29th, 2010

I saw the Giant Dipper sign and had to suggest it.

We met at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk just as it opened on a Monday morning.

Sam and Mark brought props! They decided to go with a colorful candy theme for the boardwalk shots. We had more candy than we knew what to do with!

This has to be the cutest themed engagement shoot ever.

The staff were incredibly accommodating. The carousel ride manager let us in to take a few photos.

Sam and Mark are having a Halloween wedding in Santa Cruz this year. Sam’s an actress, and Mark’s a graphic designer – he’s going to do some of his own editing to my photos, and I’m excited to see what he comes up with. I hear good things about Halloween in Santa Cruz – this should be a fun one.

This was my second engagement shoot without my lights - I love how this new technique focuses the photos on the wedding couple.

We finished up on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and headed over to the pier. I hadn't shot under a pier before - the light was unbelieveable.

I was amazed by their energy - especially at 8 AM on a Monday!

We stole off to do a lifeguard tower engagement photo and a couple of shots of the ring.

The photo on the left was taken from the same place as one of the photos above, but has a completely different feel.

I'm glad we did one with the giant lollipop before I headed back up to Oakland. Santa Cruz is such a beautiful place for an engagement shoot!
