I arrived early - Marisa had said that some of the wedding party would be doing yoga in the morning, and I wanted a distant shot under the trees.

This turned out to be another dog wedding - the seemed to love the scenic location, and the guests loved their energy.

After wedding day yoga, Marisa got ready in one of the many rooms at the resort, and I had a little time to explore.

I shoot a lot during bridal preparations - I'm always looking for a new angle and for the best way to communicate the feel of the wedding.
Marisa and Mike were married on August 7, 2010 at Dawn Ranch Lodge in Guerneville, CA.

I met Marisa and Mike at a bridal fair almost a year ago, and we did an engagement shoot in Jack London Square in Oakland.

A close friend of Mike's was playing guitar just outside the room. I shot out there a little bit, but liked this one best.

I've been trying to stay away from the formula dress shot (at least in my portfolio and blog) and looking more for textures and interesting composition.

The ceremony was held in a little corner of the orchard at Dawn Ranch Lodge - we were surrounded by fruit trees and everything was green to the horizon.

The kiss. The green backdrop for all of their photos was really magnificent - it's such a wonderful site.

We did portraits under the trees! The light streaming through the early afternoon lit up my subjects beautifully.

One of the guests brought a recently ebayed medium format camera - I shot through the viewfinder, then hooked his camera up to my flash for a portrait. I can't wait to see the results on film!

Nicely done, Mike. The photos are class…..not bad for a New Mexico boy!!!
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful wedding…looks like a wonderful time was had by all! Thanks for sharing!
