This is my favorite headshot – taken just a couple of weeks ago in an Oakland backyard. It’s for a friend of my girlfriend, and we decided to keep the lighting clean and simple, and go for an expression that communicates professionalism and strength. I’d love to hear what you think of it.

I arrived early - Marisa had said that some of the wedding party would be doing yoga in the morning, and I wanted a distant shot under the trees.

This turned out to be another dog wedding - the seemed to love the scenic location, and the guests loved their energy.

After wedding day yoga, Marisa got ready in one of the many rooms at the resort, and I had a little time to explore.

I shoot a lot during bridal preparations - I'm always looking for a new angle and for the best way to communicate the feel of the wedding.
Marisa and Mike were married on August 7, 2010 at Dawn Ranch Lodge in Guerneville, CA.

Wedding – Kris and David – Ardenwood Wedding Photographer
Photos posted by Morgan Bellinger on July 20th, 2010
I let Kris, the bride, borrow my backup backup camera and shoot a bit while the bridesmaids were getting hair and makeup done.

Sometimes it takes a little while for bridesmaids to be themselves with a photographer in the room, but it's worth waiting.

I set up the wedding dress for a classic window shot, but I like this better - I feel like it lets you in to the wedding day more.
Kris and David were married on July 3, 2010 at Ardenwood Historic Farm, in Fremont, CA.

Hi Morgan,
I first came across your work while searching local photographers on Craigslist to photograph some of my work (jewelry). That must have been a year or two ago. I bookmarked your site and now that I’m trying to figure out my budget for photography I decided to revisit your site and check out your blog. By coincidence the drummer happens to be my partner of 18 years and I was at that event. I’m wondering if you’d be interested in photographing some jewelry for web and print.

Erin and Andy had a map theme to their wedding, which brought people from all over to Hetch Hetchy, in Yosemite.

Erin had a nifty bouquet and was patient as I tried some fun lighting techniques in the wedding meadow.

I think the patterns make this photo. There's so much to see in Yosemite, and it was an honor to be asked to photograph it.

Emily – Nambé Pueblo Portrait, Santa Fe, New Mexico
Photos posted by Morgan Bellinger on July 2nd, 2010Emily, an old friend of mine, showed me around Santa Fe a couple of weeks ago and we ended up in Nambé Pueblo (after a delicious breakfast at Tesuque Village Market) underneath a waterfall. We waded around, met some local kids, and I tried out my brand new camera (and quickly regretted not bringing any lighting gear with me – she’s an awesome model).

I got to shoot at the Rohnert Park Relay for Life, which was held in Sonoma Mountain Village from Saturday to Sunday. Here’s a shot that I really liked.
